The ecological agriculture has been developing extraordinarily rapidly since early l980s. Its developmental process can be divided into three distinct phases.
As with “green-food”, “eco-agriculture” also intends to combine the knowledge of the self-sufficiency of the prestigious Chinese traditional agriculture with the technological resources of modern agriculture, tolerating, unlike in “organic agriculture”, the application of synthetic chemical products, in a way as to achieve levels of production compatible with the necessities of present-day China. The main difference between the two probably resides in the fact that production of the so-called “eco-agriculture” is not labeled with an identification seal, as is done with “green-food”.
